What is Fit 2 Live?
Fit 2 Live is an initiative created by the City of North Little Rock and North Little Rock School District in 2009 to address the obesity epidemic in our city and make the healthy choice the easy choice for our residents.
More than 1 in 3 children in North Little Rock are overweight or obese. If this epidemic is not reversed, we may be raising the first generation of Americans that will live shorter and sicker lives than their parents.

Help Along the Way
North Little Rock is a proud Let’s Move! City, and the recipient of technical assistance from the National League of Cities’ Institute for Youth, Education and Families, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
In September 2010, North Little Rock was awarded a $1.5 million “Communities Putting Prevention to Work” grant from the Arkansas Department of Health, funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
North Little Rock is using this grant to change policies, systems and environments within the City of NLR and the NLR School District to increase access to nutritious food and opportunities for physical activity throughout its neighborhoods. See our seven CPPW grant objectives.
