2020 Membership Fees

Hays Center Fee Increase Provides Extended Weekend Hours and Maintenance Funds

The North Little Rock Senior Citizens Commission voted unanimously at its September 2019 meeting to increase the fee for its “Core Hours” membership from $35 to $45 per year. The increase will become effective for any memberships renewing on or after January 1, 2020.

Core members’ hours of access to the center will increase by four hours on the weekends. The new Core hours will be:

Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Saturday: 7:00 AM–1:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM–5:00 PM

The Hays Center’s $150 per year “Extended Hours” membership will remain unchanged, with the same weekend hours as the Core membership and the weekday hours of 7:00 AM–8:00 PM.

Both memberships are open to all Arkansans. Members are not required to live in North Little Rock.

The Commission’s vote took place after hearing feedback from two focus groups with Hays Center members. The focus groups revealed that members highly value the quality of the facility and the fellowship it provides. The consensus was that the Core membership fee provides a good value at a low price and that a $10 per year increase was warranted.

The increase is expected to result in approximately $30,000 in additional revenue. The revenue will offset the Hays Center’s building maintenance budget, which funds preventative maintenance and needed repairs in the almost 17-year-old facility.

The Hays Center emphasizes the pride that both the city and Hays Center members take in the facility: “We have a world-class senior center right here in North Little Rock. This small increase will make a big difference in the city’s ability to ensure the building is held to the high standard that our community expects and deserves.”
