Immunizations
Immunizations are offered daily between 8:00a.m. – 11:30a.m. and 12:30p.m. –
4:00p.m. There is a charge of $5.00, Medicaid, or ArKids.
Tb Skin Tests
Tb skin tests are offered daily, except Thursdays, between 8:00a.m. – 11:30a.m. and
12:30p.m. – 4:00p.m. Skin tests must be read between 48-72 hours after test is
applied to the arm. There is a $2.00 charge for the health card and a $5.00 record
maintenance fee.
Family Planning (Birth Control)
Family Planning is offered every Tuesday, and the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every
month. Call between 7:00a.m. and 8:00a.m. to schedule an appointment for the same
day. A photo ID is required on the day of service for every family planning patient.
You can apply for the Family Planning Medicaid Waiver at any health unit. A
birth certificate or passport is required to apply for the Family Planning Waiver or
Medicaid. There is a sliding scale fee for those who don’t qualify for the Family
Planning Medicaid Waiver or Medicaid. A handicap exam table is also available.
Pregnancy Tests
Pregnancy tests are offered Wednesday and every 2nd and 4th Friday mornings of every month from 8:00 a.m- 10:30 a.m. by appointment only. There is a sliding scale fee ($8.00 - $14.00 depending on age); Family Planning Waiver and Medicaid accepted.
HIV & STD Testing
Please call 501-791-8551 to schedule an appointment. There is a charge of $5.00. Some types of Medicaid are accepted.
Breast Care Program
Breast exams and pap smears are scheduled by appointment only.

Temporary Medicaid Screening For Maternity Patents (Presumptive Eligibility
Medicaid)

Women, Infants, and Children
A special federally funded food supplement and nutrition education program is available for pregnant, post-partum or breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children under 5 years of age. Call 501-791-8551 to schedule an appointment.
Vital Records:
The North Little Rock Health Department will issue and file death certificates for all of North Pulaski County, Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. and
1:00p.m. – 4:30p.m.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PROTECTION
The North Little Rock Health Department……
Food Service
Inspects restaurants, grocery store/delis, schools, daycare establishments and public/semi-public pools for compliance with ADH Rules and Regulations. There is a permit fee required for all of these operations.
Investigates any complaints concerning the above.
Inspects other food related operations (mobiles, etc.). Permit fees are required;
$35.00 annual operation fee, $5.00 per day temporary operation fee.
Plan review guidelines are available for new food service establishments
Investigates possible foodborne illnesses.
Collects routine food and samples for bacteriological testing.
Individual Sewage Disposal System
Properties less than 10 acres require a permit application ranging from $35.00 and up
depending on square footage of the home. A Designated Representative (D.R.) list
and septic installer list is available by e-mail, mail, or fax. A 10-acre exemption (for
acreage over 10-acres) is also available.

Environmental Regulations
Enforces basic environmental regulations.
Vector Control
Provides mosquito control from May to October and year round technical assistance.
Water Sampling
Provides containers with directions for water sampling.
Rabies Investigations
Conducts investigations regarding reports of possible rabies in indigenous and domestic animals.
North Little Rock Health Resource Directory
The Resource Directory contains various health resources available in the North Little Rock area, including hospitals, mental health facilities, housing, recreation, and others.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey was completed in the North Little Rock schools in 2003 – 2004. This survey includes responses from over 3,500 students in grades 6th through 12th. Students responded to questions concerning alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, obesity, and other health risk behaviors.

This survey contains information on the prevalence of risk behaviors among adults in North Little Rock and their perceptions of a variety of health issues.
