The Patrick Henry Hays Center opened in February of 2003. This state of the art senior center focuses on meeting the needs of today's active seniors. The Hays Center has grown to almost 13,000 members in its first five years. This success led the City of North Little Rock to embark on a major 22,000 square-foot five million dollar expansion in August 2006. Now completed, the Center has over 60,000 square-feet to meet their expanding programs.
The fitness center offers an indoor walking track and over 60 pieces of exercise equipment including; treadmills, exercise bicycles, elliptical trainers, and strength training machines. The expansion allowed the Center to provide separate rooms for Billiards and Table Tennis as well as several multi-use Activity Rooms.
The Center features two indoor heated pools. The 20-meter pool provides the perfect place to exercise arthritic joints in one of the water aerobics classes. The new 25-meter is primarily for swimming and allows both pool activities to go on simultaneously.
The grandest space in the Center is the 5,000 square-foot ballroom with its 1,720 square-foot hardwood dance floor. Several weekly dance classes are offered for Line Dancing and Ballroom Dancing. Equipped with a grand piano and a full kitchen, this spacious room provides the perfect place for festive dinners and receptions. This and other space are available for class and family reunions, wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversary receptions and other events in need of a grand space. Call for rental information.
Music lovers have the opportunity to join in on the weekly Jam Session, Gospel Sing-along or an occasional Karaoke sing along. Piano lessons are also available on a limited basis.
Additional amenities include a Game Room, Classrooms, Computer Lab, Library and Arts and Crafts studio. The Hays Center strives to provide a full array of classes and special activities to keep the mind as well as the body conditioned.
Opportunities abound at the Center to meet and greet old friends and make new ones at the many activities, seminars and trips.

Please note that all activities at this Center are for seniors age 50 and over. Seniors outside of Arkansas may become members at the Short-Timer rate only.
Prime-Timer Membership - $25 per year
- Weekday use of the center from 8AM-4:30PM, Monday - Friday
- Weekend use of the center from 9AM-1PM Saturday, 2-5PM Sunday
Short-Timer Membership - $130 per year
- Weekday use of the center from 7AM-8PM, Monday - Friday
- Weekend use of the center from 7AM-1PM Saturday, Noon-5PM Sunday
Non-Member Day Pass
Persons age 50 and over may utilize the center by purchasing a Day Pass for $5. This pass is good for only one day use of the Hays Center in accordance with all rules, requirements and regulations of normal membership. Any subsequent visits would require the purchase of a Day Pass for each additional day.
