GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Supervises and assists in the enforcement of the City Codes and National Electrical Codes throughout the City's service area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Determines compliance with City and National electrical code standards: reviews electrical specifications on building plans; sends approval or writes cause for rejection; maintains and refers to file of all licensed electrical contractors surety bond information; makes on-site inspection of electrical construction, maintenance or alteration of electrical systems or equipment. • Keeps records: keeps daily log of inspections performed; keeps daily call record; keeps alphabetical file of electrical permits issued. • Provides information: discusses electrical codes and their application with interested community groups; interprets electrical codes and writes rules to cover questions not answered by the code; confers with electrical contractors, electrical engineers, electricians, and property owners with respect to inspections made and decisions rendered. • Makes other miscellaneous inspections: inspects construction meters in the City of Sherwood; makes building, sign, and plumbing inspections when necessary; makes "old job - no meter" inspections for UAD; makes inspection of dangerous wiring complaints for the Electric Department. • Attends regional and national seminars pertaining to the enforcement and maintenance of the electrical codes. • Works with state officials in the enforcement of electrical and HVAC codes.

Distribution Technician - Electric Dept - 8133

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Performs maintenance of the electrical distribution lines and equipment.
