MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
High School diploma or equivalent (copy required with application)
18+ years of age
No felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
Valid class B CDL and good driving record OR Must obtain Class B Commercial Drivers License within 6 months of hire
MUST PASS WOOD POLE CLIMBING TRAINING COURSE WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF HIRE & MAINTAIN CLIMBING SKILLS UNTIL ADVANCEMENT TO APPRENTICE LINEMAN I
**Previous experience performing essential job functions preferred. Preliminary evaluation of applicants will be rating of experience as it relates to duties to be performed and satisfactory work history.**
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
Assist construction crew with maintenance, repair, & construction of electric distribution lines & equipment.
***NOTE: The employee is subject to call for emergency power outage situations at any time.***
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist the lineman on the pole: anticipates & provides tool and/or materials; listens for & follows instructions from the lineman on the pole.
Assist with poles: assists in erecting, loading & unloading poles; tamps poles after they have been set in place; assist with installation of anchors & buys; assists with preparing & installing pole fixtures.
Handles construction materials: loads materials on truck; unloads materials at construction site.
Assist with installation: assist with the refusing of transformer cutout and grounding; assists with preparing primary jumpers and secondary connections of transformers.
Cleans & cuts right-of-way for distribution lines when necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Must be 16 years of age or older;
Must have completed the American Red Cross Lifeguard course and be certified or eligible for certification before date of employment. (SUBMIT CERTIFICATE WITH APPLICATION) If not yet certified, submit receipt for class with application.
SALARY: $7.25 per hour ($7.50 per hour if certified Water Safety Instructor)
HOURS OF WORK: Municipal pools are open 5 days a week. Days & hours vary.
POOL LOCATIONS: North Heights & Sherman Park Community Centers
Must be willing to work at any pool location

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures the safety of swimmers in the City pools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Pool Safety and Operations: monitors pool area activities at all times, taking necessary action to maintain safe conditions and to ensure the safety of pool patrons; uses proper lifesaving techniques as necessary to rescue swimmers in trouble; administers proper first aid techniques as needed; enforces pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety of pool patrons; assists in the cleaning of the shower rooms and pool facilities; assists certified Water Safety Instructor with swimming lessons; performs other related duties as assigned.
